Speakers on both sides of the Measure C library tax campaign will participate in a public discussion planned for approximately 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28. People can attend on zoom or in person at Hana Gardens Community Room, 10860 San Pablo Ave.
Doors will open at 6 p.m.
The speakers will be Wally Nowinski for the No on Measure C campaign, and Greg Lyman for the Yes on C campaign.
City Council member William Ktsanes will be the moderator.
Part of a Club Meeting; Everyone is Welcome
The program will be part of the El Cerrito Democratic Club’s monthly membership meeting. Both members and non-members are welcome to attend.
The club meeting will begin with some brief ECDC business, so the library tax program is likely to start around 6:45 p.m., Ktsanes said.
Ktsanes, who is also executive vice president of ECDC, stressed that the event will be more a discussion than a debate.
Send Your Questions ASAP
He asked that anyone with questions for the speakers email them by 3 p.m. on April 25 to wktsanes@gmail.com.
The Presentation Plan
Ktsanes gave the following details.
“Greg and Wally will each have three minutes to make opening statements, followed by another 15 minutes to make their presentations. That’ll be followed by a handful of questions. We’ll wrap up around 8 p.m. with Greg and Wally having five minutes each to make a closing statement. If time allows, they may stay for a bit after the meeting ends to informally meet people, field additional questions and discuss the issues further.”
