Note to My Readers

EDITORIAL
By Betsy Bashor
This morning, a friend wrote to me asking whether I will vote for Nowinski and White for City Council.
The answer is yes.
As part of their work on Measure C, Wally Nowinski and Kimberly White have talked with a lot of residents and done a lot of homework on city issues. This deepened their interest in our city. They want to keep finding out more about what residents think and want.
They are well-qualified to serve as council members, with excellent skills and experience in politics, government, and business. As we move forward with issues like the library, community safety, and parking around the Plaza BART station, I trust them the most.
Here are links to their campaign bios.
p.s. I'm composing a longer editorial but meanwhile, my friend helped me to realize that people are already voting!

I’m disappointed in Wally and Kimberly’s seeming inability to put forth a positive vision for El Cerrito. Besides crying about financial mismanagement and attacking current city council members, I haven’t heard from them what they’ll DO. How will they fund a senior center, something I know many of their constituents want? Why are they still carrying on about financial mismanagement when Kimberly has been on the Financial Advisory Board? What specific issues has she seen that being on the council will allow her to fix? What is their plan to fix the alleged financial mismanagement? They talk about the city being unresponsive to constituents but I haven’t seen them at any city council meetings. It’s not clear to …
Amen!
these two leaders are exactly what EC needs to make it a well managed and properly functioning municipal bureauracy and not a playground a few self dealing politicans who have been around way to long and can't imagine a different future for the City other than financial chaos they have created
